WHAT WE BELIEVE
ABOUT THE SCRIPTURES
We believe the Holy Bible was written by divinely inspired men of God
and is a perfect in its instruction. We believe the Bible has God as
its author, salvation as its goal and truth without any mixture of
error as its content. We believe that the Bible reveals the principles
by which God will judge us and therefore is, and shall remain, the true
center of Christian union and the supreme standard by which all human
conduct, creeds and opinions shall be tried.
ABOUT SALVATION
We believe the Bible to teach the salvation of sinners is wholly of
grace through the person of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. By Christ's
birth death, burial, and resurrection and soon return; God has made
salvation possible through simple faith in His Son Jesus Christ.
Believing both in and on Jesus Christ as the Son of God and savior of
the world saves men from eternal damnation.
ABOUT THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST
We believe the Bible instructs that a visible church of Christ is
comprised of believers, associated by covenant in the faith and
fellowship of the Gospel. Observing ordinances of Christ, governed by
His laws and exercising the gifts, rights and privileges invested in
them by His word. We believe the only Biblical officers are Bishops or
Pastors, Deacons whose qualifications, claims and duties are defined in
the Word of God, ... the book of Acts and the Epistles to Timothy in
particular.
ABOUT GOD
We believe the Bible teach that there is one, and only one living and
true God. That manifested in the unity of the Godhead there are three
persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; equal in every divine
perfection and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great
work of redemption.
REPENTANCE & FAITH
We believe the Bible teaches that repentance and faith are the work of
the Holy Spirit of God. The word repent means to 'turn from our sin' to
Jesus Christ our Savior. By turning to Christ as Savior and then
trusting Him as Lord, we experience repentance and demonstrate faith.
ABOUT BAPTISM & THE LORD'S SUPPER
We believe the Bible teaches that Christian baptism is the immersion in
water of a believer, in the name of the Father, and Son, and Holy
Spirit (Matt. 28:18-20). Baptism demonstrates outwardly that which has
already taken place inwardly and symbolically links us to the death,
burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe the partaking of
the Lord's supper is to be shared by members of the church, by the
sacred use of bread and wine which commemorate together the dying love
of Christ; preceded always by solemn self-examination. |
